Michael Kizito is Phd candidate in the department of Applied IT in the University of Gothenburg Sweden. His area of research is largely in the area of Security and IT Governance. He holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Radboud University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Makerere University. He previously practiced Electrical Engineering and has both a higher and ordinarydiploma in Electrical Engineering from Uganda Polytechnic Kyambogo. He is an assistant Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science in the School of Computing and Informatics Technology (SCIT). In the more than four years he has been at SCIT, he has supervised a number of undergraduate projects to completion and has taught a number of courses which include computer organisation and architecture, Computer networks, Enterprise Network Management, Hardware and Operating Systems security, Computer security among others. He has a passion for Information Systems Security.

Prior to joining Makerere University as a full time Lecturer, Michael worked at the Mandela National Stadium in Uganda as the power technician for over 6 years. He resigned and when on to do his Master’s degree in Computer Science at Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands. After completing his MSc he worked at Celtel Uganda/Zain Uganda as a Backup Administrator and later when on to work at Computer Point Uganda Limited as a Data Centre Technical Assistant. He resigned in 2009 and joined Makerere University as a full time Lecturer.

Michael is married to Diana and they have three children all boys namely Jeremiah, Joel and Micah.
